Project managers rely on emotional intelligence to keep teams aligned, stakeholders informed, and projects on track despite inevitable obstacles. Their role requires constant people management — motivating team members, managing conflicts, and communicating progress to stakeholders with varying levels of technical understanding. The emotional labor of project management is often underestimated. PMs must remain calm when deadlines slip, diplomatically deliver bad news to sponsors, and energize teams during grueling project phases.
